Finding and securing your room

How do I book a room at Scape?

Booking your room is quick and easy. Simply visit our Book Now page to browse available rooms, choose your preferred property and contract length, then complete your booking online. If you’re still deciding where to live, you can also explore all Scape locations before making your choice.

Can I visit a Scape property before I book?

Absolutely. We offer both in-person and virtual tours of our properties. Simply visit our Book a Tour page to schedule a visit at a time that suits you.

Do you offer virtual tours for international or interstate students?

Yes, we do! We know you might not be in Australia or the city just yet, so our leasing team can send you a Matterport virtual tour link for your chosen property and room type. Simply book online and we’ll be in touch to arrange everything. Just keep in mind that Book a Tour links aren’t available for all buildings and room types, but we’ll do our best to find the right option for you. We can’t wait to help you explore your potential new home.

Can I book before my student visa or university offer is confirmed?

Yes. You can secure your room before your visa or university offer is finalised. If your Australian student visa is not approved, you’re covered by our Visa Guarantee, which allows you to request a refund of your holding deposit, subject to the terms and conditions.

What is a bond and when do I pay it?

Your bond is a refundable security deposit that is registered with the relevant state authority and covers any damage beyond normal wear and tear. Around 10 days before your contract begins, you’ll receive an email inviting you to pay your bond through the Resident Portal. Provided your room is left clean, there is no damage and all rent has been paid, your bond will be refunded after you move out.

What documents do I need to book?

To complete your booking and pre-arrival process, you’ll generally need to provide your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), a valid photo ID and any additional documents requested through the Resident Portal before your contract starts.

What are the payment terms for Short Stays?

For Scape Short Stays, full payment is required before check-in. A refundable security deposit may also be payable on arrival, depending on your booking.

Do I need to be a student to book a Short Stay?

Yes. In most cases, Short Stays are available exclusively to students. The exception is Scape Aurora, where both students and non-students can book short-term accommodation.

Can I book my room after a tour?

Yes. If you’ve found the right room during your tour, you can book it online afterwards through our Book Now page. Availability changes regularly, so we recommend securing your room as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

How do I reschedule or cancel my tour?

You can reschedule or cancel your tour using the confirmation email you received when booking. If you need assistance, simply contact the property directly through our Contact Us page and our team will be happy to help.

When should I book my student accommodation?

The earlier you book, the better your chances of securing your preferred property and room type. Many students book several months before semester begins, especially for popular locations. If you’re booking later, don’t worry, we’ll do our best to help you find a suitable room.

How long does a Scape property tour usually take?

Our in-person tours typically take about 20 to 30 minutes. This gives us plenty of time to show you the communal spaces, study areas, available room types, and answer all your questions about living at Scape.
