Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be a student to live at Scape?
Yes, Scape’s student accommodation is purpose built for students and a confirmation of enrolment is required to secure your room.
Do I need to have my enrolment confirmed to book my room?
No, you can still book your accommodation while waiting for confirmation or acceptance/enrolment at UNSW, or if you are still waiting for the issue of an Australian student visa by the Australian Government. Please see our Booking Terms & Conditions for more information on the steps to follow if you are not accepted and need to cancel your booking.
How do I travel from Scape to the University of New South Wales?
The University of New South Wales is easily accessible by the light rail. From Scape Darling House, Scape Darling Square and Scape Quay, it’s a 6-8 minute walk to the Chinatown stop and a 17-minute journey to the UNSW Anzac Parade stop. If you are staying at Scape Sydney Central it’s a 15 minute walk to the Haymarket stop and then a 14 minute journey on the light rail to UNSW Anzac Parade.
It’s a short walk to Redfern station from Scape Redfern, Scape Abercrombie and Scape Darlington. From Redfern station you can take the 392 bus directly to the UNSW Mall Entrance on Anzac Parade (bus departs every 10 minutes), or you can take the train one stop to Central Station and jump on the light rail from there.
If cycling is more your style, most Scape buildings offer secure bike storage and you can ride to UNSW in around 25 minutes.
